What to Expect:
What is Worship like?
Is there nursery care or Sunday School?
Our worship could be described as “relaxed traditional” consisting of mostly hymns and some praise songs. One of the strengths of our worship is music, which includes the choir and other special music by many talented musicians. We offer the sacrament of communion on the first Sunday of the month, and anyone who desires to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ is welcome to receive the bread and the cup.
Children are invited to join in worship. The sounds of busy children are a part of being in community and we treasure the littles, even as they are growing in their capacity to be with adults. To keep the littles busy we have a play space set aside in our sanctuary where they can engage in a variety of child-friendly activities.
Nursery Care is available at the Bishop UMC in the Education Building.
There is no dress code to worship God — dress up, dress down, just please wear something. All are welcome and we won’t point you out and make you stand up and introduce yourself. We want you to feel comfortable and to experience a meaningful worship that will help you draw closer to God. Handicap accessible entrances are available at all of the three churches: Bishop, Big Pine, and Independence.
