Worm Castings

Worm castings (often referred to as Black Gold by gardeners) is a nutrient-rich material produced by earthworms as they digest organic material.  It is a natural fertilizer that improves soil health, enhances plant growth and can be used in a variety of gardening applications.  It is virtually the best soil amendment available for your garden.

Worm castings are full of beneficial microbes.  Think of them as the soil digestive system, making nutrients bioavailable that would otherwise remain unavailable.  They

• Break down organic material in the soil

• Convert nutrients into plant-available forms

• Release enzymes that free up multiple minerals and micronutrients in soil particles
