Psalm 8 Worms - still in progress!
The Psalm 8 Worms Project began in 2023 as a project of United Methodist Social Services. Its mission was to fight climate change by diverting organic material from the local land fill and use it to feed composting worms. The worm castings that were produced were used to bring new life to our soils. During the first year of operation, over one hundred persons participated in workshops focused on cultivating worm bins in the home to create their own supply of worm castings while fighting climate change.
As the Psalm 8 Project progressed, it was decided to maintain training and educational programs through United Methodist Social Services while producing worm products to distribute to homeowners, gardeners, and micro farms through the Eastern Sierra United Methodist Church.
